A Fawn’s Plea in the FirestormThe forest is a tinderbox, and today, it has ignited.

A mother deer, panicked but determined, guides her young spotted fawn along a wire-mesh fence that runs parallel to the road. The orange glow and choking smoke of a massive wildfire rise into the sky behind them, just meters from the burning trees. The fawn, struggling to keep pace, stops and looks back towards the blazing inferno. She turns to her mother and offers a soft, high-pitched plea, her large dark eyes wide with terror and confusion, unable to understand why their world is ending. The mother nuzzles her fawn, urging her on, desperate to find a break in the fence, a safe escape before the fire claims them both. Car headlights flash along the road, and smoke fills their lungs, a grim reminder of how close they are to disaster.
